Danielle Buttle
Danielle was introduced to dance at a young age where she started her training at The Limelight Academy in street dance. Under the academy she competed in competitions across the country and it was at her first competition where she won the solo category at the Kent County competition.
It was at the age of 16 that Danielle decided she wanted to pursue a career in dance, so she began to train in classical ballet and modern to broaden her dance styles at the North Central Herts School of Dance. During her time at the dance school she had the opportunity to perform a ballet and modern dance at Disney Land Paris in 2007. She trained at the dance school alongside her A level course at The John Henry Newman School where she took a BTEC National Certificate in performing arts (dance).
Whilst studying at the John Henry Newman School Danielle had the opportunity to complete The Classical Award 1 and 2 (IDTA) in ballet and was awarded a double distinction on completion of her course. During her time on the BTEC course Danielle gained experience in teaching many different styles of dance to children ranging from ages 7 – 18. This lead her to choreographing, teaching and performing for a large School production, “Captain Noah and his Floating Zoo” which involved children from St. Thomas More, Our Lady and St. Vincent De Paul Schools, as well as students of all ages from The John Henry Newman School. This involved Danielle teaching workshops to children from all three Primary Schools and choreographing the dances to fit in with the final production.
In 2009, she went on to study a BA (hons) degree in Dance at the University of Sunderland. It was whilst studying her degree that Danielle gained extensive experience in performance and choreography. She had 3 years of full time professional training in contemporary, Jazz and Street dance. She gained stage performance and a high level of teaching experience. A dance company, DUSC, was incorporated into the course which toured across the North East of England performing an hour long contemporary dance piece based around the Olympics. As part of the dance company Danielle had the opportunity to perform in Penshaw during the passing of the flame.
Danielle is currently part of a Lady Gaga Tribute act, backing dancing for various venues around the North East. These venues include weddings, social clubs, cooperate events and Northern Pride which was held in Newcastle and held approximately 18,000 people.
In 2012, Danielle joined Identity Dance and currently teaches various styles of dance. She specialises in Street dance, performing arts and commercial jazz.
